Adopt-A-Maple at Kettle Ridge Farm: A New Family Holiday Tradition

Thanksgiving has come and gone and the frenzy of the holidays has kicked into high gear. I love the holidays. I love the lights and the decorating and creating memories with my family that connects us. From the family traditions, to the family get-together the holidays are an amazing time to focus on what is really important. This year we are starting a new family holiday tradition with the Adopt-A-Maple at Kettle Ridge Farm program.

One-On-One Time with My Son at the Seneca Park Zoo

On my recent visit to the Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester, NY I was able to spend some one-on-one time with my son. Seneca Park Zoo is a great place for a few hours of quality time. I cherish the moments that I get to spend with my kids, especially as they get older. Time is going so fast and the one-on-one play dates are a great way to connect.

The Waffle Factory | Rochester, New York

Rochester has the Strong Museum of Play, Dinosaur BBQ and garbage plates.  Now we have The Waffle Factory. Located outside of Rochester, NY in Webster, The Waffle Factory offers all types of waffle creations imaginable. It was a HUGE hit with my family!!

Corning, New York is a great place for a weekend getaway for families.  It is a little under a 2 hour drive from Rochester, NY and there are a lot of activities to fill your day and relax with your family.  With two amazing museums and a great shopping and dining district, Corning is a great place to getaway with the family for the weekend.

Have you ever thought about visiting the Corning Museum of Glass with Kids?  I’ve always wanted to but I wasn’t sure if it was kid friendly.  I had also heard great things about their glass making classes. We decided to give it a try and planned a last minute weekend getaway to Corning, NY. I booked a Sandblasting class and planned on spending the day exploring the museum. Early Saturday morning we surprised the kids with a weekend getaway and some much needed quality family time.

Fall Fun at Powers Farm Market

Fall is the best time of the year to get out there and explore the festivals and farms in your neighborhood. I love creating fall family traditions and fall traditions for us means visiting farms and fall festivals. This year we visited Powers Farm Market.  The last time we visited was in 2012 and I remembered some of the fun and unique activities they had.  I was really excited to take the kids this year.

Friday Nights at the Strong Museum of Play

The Strong Museum of Play is an amazing Children’s museum in Rochester, New York that offers interactive exhibits, a butterfly garden, and the Toy Hall of Fame. It boast the largest collection of toys in the world. We have lived in Rochester for six years now and one of our favorite things to do is spend Friday nights at the Strong Museum of Play.
