Teach Your Kids to Share the Love for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s day is a week away. Typically, I give the kids chocolates and we write valentine’s to each other.  Some years my husband and I go out but most years we spend time together as a family. This year I want to do something different. This Valentine’s Day we decided to share the love through our community.

Valentine’s Day is about roses and love and romance. When you have a family, it changes a little. I love going on dates with my husband but I also like to include my children in the love.  This year as a family I have been focusing on ways to spread kindness throughout our home and community. I believe that teaching kindness to your children is one of the most important qualities you can teach them.

Share the Love for Valentine's Day

To share the love this Valentine’s Day we decided to hand out Valentine cookies to different people in our community.  I have partnered with Cookie’s by Design to share this message of love and kindness and make everyone smile a little more this Valentine’s day.

Share the Love for Valentine's Day

Cookies by Design has launched handcrafted cookie gift baskets that feature Build-A-Bear Workshop teddy bears with Valentine’s Day, Birthday, Get Well, and New Baby themes. They also offer hand-decorated cookie arrangements for any occasion. I love this because not only can you share kindness during Valentine’s Day but you can do it year-round for different occasions.

Cookies by Design offers custom-designed, hand decorated cookie arrangement for any occasion.  The attention to detail shows in the colorful cookies.

Each basket is made to order and can be personalized with messages or images printed right on the cookies. I was so excited to personalize a cookie with each of my child’s initials. They were so excited to see a cookie made especially for them.

Share the Love for Valentine's Day

Our first stop to share the love was for my husband’s grandmothers 93rd birthday.  We are incredibly blessed to have her in our lives and were excited to share our basket with her.  The smile on her face and the kids faces was a great moment. I could see in their faces the excitement about sharing kindness with her.

Share the Love for Valentine's Day

This is a really fun activity to teach kindness with your kids and share the love this Valentine season. There are lots of people in our community that we want to share the love with and plan to visit in the upcoming weeks.  The kids and I brainstormed a list but I am sure there are a lot more.

  • Librarian
  • Post Office Delivery Person
  • Teachers
  • Bus Driver
  • Visit an elderly home.
  • Neighbors
  • Hospital
  • Anyone special in your life.

Cookies by Design baskets featuring Build-A-Bear Workshop Teddy Bears is the perfect gift to share the love. The new baskets are available to order at all Cookies by Design locations and online at Cookies by Design. They can be hand-delivered the same day or customized and delivered within a day. Yay for last minute gifts!! Now you can wow your loved ones with ready-made Build-A-Bear workshop baskets even if you are a last-minute shopper!

The Teddy Bear in the basket is so soft!! It has incredible quality and would make any child smile this holiday.  My daughter loved it and my kids have decided to let it take turns sleeping with them! I love that the kids are practicing their kindness with each other by taking turns.

Share the Love for Valentine's Day

If you are looking for a special way to celebrate Valentine’s day this year as a family, Cookies by Design has you covered.  The personalization and attention to detail make the baskets a perfect gift for anyone in your life, and a great way to share the love throughout your home and neighborhood.

Love the message here! And on a holiday that can easily pass by without any real difference being made in the lives of others.

It’s so fun that you brainstormed a list of people with your kids. My little one is only six months but I am so looking forward to stuff like this! Thanks for the cool idea 🙂

I love this! Not only are you instilling kindness, generosity and appreciation by doing this but with the bear being their keepsake, they will hold on to the memory of each and every smile they brought, the gratitude they felt in doing so and so much more!
